DeTour Area Schools

Due to freezing rain, high wind, dropping temperatures and weather not getting better until later this afternoon, DeTour Area Schools, and DATA will be closed today. We will make the determination as to whether or not we will have extra curriculars later today. Please share.

There will be no Varsity Girls Basketball practice today, February 27.

Don't forget about Parent/Teacher Conferences! This is a reminder to our families that we have parent/teacher conferences coming up over the next two days. Drummond Island Elementary will have parent teacher conferences tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb 28th from 3:30pm to 6:00pm. On Thursday, Feb 29th, all students will be released at 12:30pm for a half day of school. All schools will then have parent/teacher conferences from 12:30pm to 3:30pm. Thursday evening only DATA and DeTour High School will have parent/teacher conferences from 3:30pm to 6:00pm. Thank you and we look forward to seeing everyone!

Drummond Island Elementary and DATA Elementary had a great experience today at LSSU. They were able to see a live performance of Tomas and the Library Lady. All of our students represented our community very well! Thank you to all of the staff who helped with this event.

The varsity boy's basketball team played hard all night and came out on top. 55 to 53. Great win! Go Islanders!

Thirteen of our 10th and 11th graders that had registered to attend, along with their Cedarville HS counterparts, had an engaging and informative experience on their field trip at the Career Center in the Soo! They were given a brief tour of each program offered, followed by an extended session with the head instructor of the field that interested them. Those that are interested and who's grades/schedules allow, will have an opportunity to attend CTE courses during their Junior and Senior year.

Great work this evening by the varsity boy's basketball team. They took care of business verse Petoskey St. Michael in Cedarville. Final score 53 to 28. Go Islanders!

Here is the latest updates on what is happening for our Islanders tonight: There are NO JV Girls, JV Boys, or Varsity Girls practices. Our Varsity Boys will be playing Petoskey St. Michael, in Cedarville, at 6:00. Little Islanders 2/3 will be playing at halftime. Thank you!

Good morning, Islanders! Unfortunately, there will not be a JV Girls game tonight, February 20, in Cedarville. There will also be no JV or Varsity Girls practices. The Varsity Boys game against Petoskey St. Michael is still ON...and we are trying to move the start time up. When we know for sure, we will post it right away. Good Morning, Islanders! Today, February 19, our JV boys basketball team will be practicing from 3:00-5:00 in Cedarville. Tomorrow, February 20, they will practice from 4:00-5:15, also in Cedarville. Have a great day!!!

It's parent's night for our lady Islanders basketball team. Thanks to all of our parents for their sacrifices to make this a great season for our team. We appreciate all the support! Here are senior members.

The girl's JV Islanders basketball team dropped a tough one tonight to the Sault Blue Devils. 42 to 33.

What a great chance for a great day of LSSU athletics!! It also happens to be the same day our 7th and 8th Grade Boys teams compete at LSSU!!

Mark your calendars! We have been able to add one more game to our Boys JV and Varsity Schedule. On Wednesday, February 21, Stephenson will be traveling to Cedarville to play at 5:00. We hope to see you there...GO ISLANDERS!!!

DeTour and DATA Schools, including the surrounding area, have lost power. Drummond Island does not seem to be affected. Students will be released from school at normal dismissal time.

Because there is no school today, there will be NO Girls Elementary Basketball practice.

Huge kudos to James Geyer, Cody Potvin and Nick Huyck for organizing this amazing opportunity for our kiddos tonight at LSSU! These boys had everyone in the gym cheering for them. Thank you, LSSU and Norris Contracting for the experience!

Good Saturday afternoon all DeTour Area Schools, DATA and Drummond Island Elementary students and their parents and guardians. Because of increased illnesses towards the end of this past week, and students either not coming to school or leaving school during the school sday, we are canceling school for Mon. 12 February
